The Consul General of Switzerland in Guangzhou Mr. Martin Bienz met with the Vice-President of Shenzhen People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Mr. Gu Ting and Deputy Director-General of Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio and Television, Mrs. Yang Yongqun on January 20, 2021.
The Consul General congratulated on Shenzhen's development achievements in the past 40 years and reviewed the long-standing friendship between Switzerland and China during the 70 years of diplomatic relations. He highlighted the close cooperation in various areas like tourism, education, finance, intelligent manufacturing, trade and investment. Consul General Bienz mentioned that the development of innovation and technology in Shenzhen has made it an important city not only in China but also in the world. In the future, the Consulate will continue to support and promote the exchanges between Switzerland and Shenzhen at all levels.
Vice President Gu Ting briefly introduced the latest economic and social developments of Shenzhen. He said that the city cooperates extensively with international institutions in scientific research and innovation. Deputy Director-General of Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio and Television, Mrs. Yang Yongqun said that Switzerland is a popular tourist destination for Shenzhen residents. At the same time, Shenzhen offers innovative tourism attractions to both Chinese and foreign visitors.
